Hi people!

We really like cooking together and try to find new things to make and EAT. It does not have to be complicated but can sometimes be.

Recently, however, we made something rather simple. It is Guacamole dip or sauce.

This recipe comes from the BBC Food Website which is a great source of various recipes.

  • 4 mild chillies, finely chopped

  • bunch coriander, chopped

  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped

  • salt, to taste

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1-2 tbsp water

  • ½ lime, juice only

  • 3 ripe avocados

We used some dried chili powder instead of real chilies - possibly a mistake. Next time we will use real chili red peppers.

Preparation method

  1. In a pestle and mortar, pound the chillies, coriander, tomatoes, salt and onion to a fine paste.

  2. Add a little water and lime juice to make a looser mixture. Mash in the avocados. Serve.

Really very nice and tasty. Easy to make but do not care about grounding the ingredients in a pestle - just put them into a blender and slowly blend them - it will be much quicker. Just slowly add the ingredients so that they do not clog the blender - so switch on for a short time - a few seconds, switch off and stir so that the mass goes down to the blades of the blender. Otherwise the blender will not cut but just make a noise since the mass is not fluid enough at the start.

Bon Appetit!
